ThinkProgress, R.I.P.

Yet another leftist digital outlet, Think Progress, pulls the plug.  In a world where digital media are being forced to make money, leftists sites are dropping like flies and forcing Starbucks to kill entire forests-worth of paper to print job applications so "journalists" can pay their rent to their capitalist landlords.

ThinkProgress, the left-leaning online political news site, is closing up shop.

The web site’s owner, public policy researcher The Center for American Progress, said the site had been unable to find a buyer in recent months, having put itself up for sale early this summer. Navin Nayek, CAP’s executive director said this left “no choice but to close ThinkProgress as an independent enterprise focused on original reporting.”

“Given the challenging trends in digital news media that have undermined so many iconic outlets, it has become unsustainable for CAP, as a nonprofit, to continue supplementing the growing shortfall in ThinkProgress revenue,” Nayek wrote in a statement.

I know what you're thinking: "but I thought progressive thinking was the future?".  Turns out, not so much.  Looking at a few recent articles on their site, you'd think the internet world would be constantly refreshing their site for amazing headlines like:

  • CNN’s planning a 2020 LGBTQ forum. Here are some issues advocates say the candidates should address.
  • Kristen Stewart’s experience is emblematic of LGBTQ people’s struggles in Hollywood
  • Hurricane Dorian’s nightmarishly slow pace is linked to climate change
  • Wealthy nations won’t be spared economic climate impacts, new study finds

Rest in piece, TP.  The free market took you from us way too late.  The best part of any leftists digital-media shutdown are the journalists who must suddenly take their lack of talent to the free market.

No you didn't.  Nobody read your shit. #learntoworkalattemachine

The topic you write about, global warming, is a proven, undisputed hoax. #learntoworkalattemachine
