I saw this tweet from Margot Cleveland's walk-through of Durham's reply to Danchenko, and it made me think about the potential leaker of the Flynn-Kislyak call during the transition period of 2017. I'm taking this new piece of information and extrapolating who I think likely may have helped facilitate the call and leaked.
The story has been that Hussein kicked out the Russian diplomats for the purpose of prompting a call from Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak to Michael Flynn, who was the incoming National Security Advisor, where the criminals lied to say Flynn was subverting Hussein on foreign policy.
That theory always felt to be on shaky ground to me. A call from that specific Russian official to Flynn specifically always seemed like too much of a shot in the dark.
The mystery has been who is the leaker of the call, who knew the phone call was about to happen, and who leaked it to the press? I think we have a candidate, thanks to Durham's filing.
